This is fast becoming my favourite jig. Mix of 14t with red head. Plus a bit of green and orange thrown in. Sephia deep from Japan.4liters wrote:Interesting, what are some of the brands/models you've found to work well?ducky wrote:I'm loving deep jigs at the moment. Yes they snag a bit more but they always get down. I just work them faster to make up for the faster sink.

UV white 3.0 all time favourite. Brown natural is a close second.

Re: Squid jigs - Favourite colours
i could talk all day about squid jigs as it my new addiction! i have to say absolutely hands down my 2.5 Yamashita in orange/pink/white smashes anything else i own, with a white Shimano Sephia in second.
Also had a natural brown Yammy that i lost and never replaced that worked well in Sydney but never tried down here.
Cheers
Paul

In cloudy conditions it would be a great option as well as purples and maroons. Previously been chastised for saying so but read up about the habits of the species and their biology will help you fish logically mate. CheersHammy Y wrote:I heard full black can be like dynamite sometimes, thoughts?

Yep, this...Beno wrote:UV white 3.0 all time favourite. Brown natural is a close second.
White (with foil) works well on dull days and the darker brown/natural ones seem to work best when it's brighter.
I've only ever used cheap lures that I pick up in the bargain bins or (even cheaper) on ebay. Never had any issues
with quality and they catch just as many as my buddies that have used the 'name' brands. Plus if you snag and loose
one, you're only down two bucks.

Re: Squid jigs - Favourite colours
.. here, have a look at these. I bought some of the foil ones (3.0) and the larger (3.5) with the matte/natural colours.
Have fished side-by-side with named brands and caught as many, if not more, squid.
On sale atm, and a bargain at around 2 bucks per jig. I have no link, or affiliation with the seller.

There are plenty of other ebay sellers who offer the same jigs, for even less, if you have a look around...
