Gummys at Dromana Pier

Post by kellntim » Fri Mar 01, 2013 11:50 am

Ok so this is my first ever post so im hoping that im doing it right lol

So around about 7 weeks ago we went down to Dromana pier around 10pm im pretty sure it was high tide by 10.45 we had hooked and landed 2 decent gummies:)
My one was about 1.3meters and my partners was about a meter so we were pretty bloody stoked because we had both never caught a shark of any sort before

so......

Last night myself and my partner headed down to dromana pier at 11.30pm we stayed until 3.30am by this time it was turn of the tide and the tide was halfway back in:) We went through nearly a whole bag of squid whatever was taking our bait was doing it really quickly.
at about 3am i finally got a massive bite and hooked myself onto a gummy, BUT the poor bugger was just a baby so we through it back.
Something also was having a feeding frenzy about 1.5 meters out from the end of the pier i dont know what it was but it looked pretty big and it was thrashing around for maybe 30secs and then it was gone.

I hope that this is of some use to any keen fisher people
