As others have already suggested, LB off the rocks in 25 knot N winds would be unwise.

I have bait fished LB from Mt Martha probably 4-5 times now (usually towards the Safety Beach end at sun-up), and whilst I enjoy it because it is usually nice and quite people wise, my success rate has not been great for fishing. You can catch Gar, Flathead, Pinkies, and Salmon.... the Port Douglas Sharks & Banjos will usually prove to be annoying, plus there is HUUUge ray that patrols up and down that section of water.

On my last outing though (mid May) two fellows set up nearby and did okay pulling in 5-6 squid during an hour, so they (the squid that is) are there if you are chasing them. Wait for the wind to drop and have a go. Pack light for traversing the cliff paths down to the waters edge.
