A dream comes true - the monster

Post by Bayrock » Thu Jan 04, 2018 9:57 am

Well what an amazing night.
Caught up with Shaun from Think Big as I usually do this time of the year to target gummies. My PB stood at around 4kg and I was hoping for one over 10kg. Shaun went the extra mile as he always does to source fresh bait and we were off out of Mount Martha at 10pm with Winga on board to do some filming.
First up a MEGA ray which gave me a good workout until it snapped off under the boat. Next up lost something after a good fight felt like a gummy, gutted. Was on a circle too so very unusual.
Around 1/2 hour later the rod loads up after a timid bite and I was thinking rubbish fish. Well no.
After an epic tussle which had the guys calling bronzie she appeared and had them shouting and jumping around in amazement.

After 7 years of trying for a good one I finally have a decent PB - 31.7kg. The beauty was revived and released safely.
