good on you :thumbsup:heldzyy wrote:TheLoneTurtle wrote:did u release it?heldzyy wrote:G’day blokes/ladies
Just after people’s opinion on what they reckon this is!? Caught at the very end near the surf, we think half trout and something else?
Cheers
Ofocurse mate, got some pics and released, knew it wasn’t something you catch everyday so gave it the chance to create more little beauties!

Re: Balcombe Creek
That's a great catch mate. I would've thought trout moving down into the brackish estuary of this system would be quite rare.

Re: Balcombe Creek
Following on from this post from East Gippsland Fishing Reports I have attached a picture of Brian Wray''s 8lb sea run (or at least a long term estuary fish) Brown Trout just caught in Lake Victoria in the Gippsland Lakes. A very silvery Brown in good condition.

Re: Balcombe Creek
That's actually better for the fish, fight times are shorter and you get a better release. Horsing the fish in on such heavy stuff isn't as fun thoughCarlG wrote:Nailed it, 0-1/2 kilo gear, lure the size of a grain of sand.Fish-cador wrote:0.01 lb line?CarlG wrote:Didn't use game gear like that there mate, ultra light all the way.4liters wrote:would have been great fun on the 2lb gearCarlG wrote:Only ever caught 1 before, off the beach at Lindisfarne, north east UK.
