Mount Martha Squid

Post by tasksta » Mon Apr 24, 2017 8:31 pm

Hi Folks

I Managed to sneak out for a quick Calamri session this morning, the last few weeks my failsafe at Mills beach and Royal has been tough. i fonally Managed to find a good sized bag off Mount Martha cliffs and noticed the darker jigs outfished my trusty pink/orange Yamashita which was a surprise as this one always cleans up.

It might seem obvious to you locals but i noticed the deeper water 5-7m fishes much better a low tide, just learning a little each time and trying to master the local spots. Has anyone noticed its been a little slower lately?

Sorry no pics as didnt think Calamari was worthy.

P.S. Im always happy to share info if people want to PM me and share back.

Cheers
Paul

G'day Paul.
I did ok off the cliffs in 3mts last week but up until then they were pretty slow. Rye pier did alright though.
The whiting are also a little shy around Mt Martha too I found.

5-7 Mts hey? I haven't had much luck out deeper. I'm looking to head out on Sunday as the wind is down a little. Shall give it a try. Then I need some Whiting if the water isn't too cold.
