haha yep that breakwall takes
no prisoners
And that's the time you wanna be fishing that pier :nicefish!:

Yeah it is, but the new wave walls, have made it pretty much un fishable in those sorts of conditions :(
What would be the thinking behind that Brett with those type of walls? Is it safer for the pier structure or the boats in the harbour?

Its protecting the boats in the harbour, a few have been damaged / written off over the last few years

Yes, it was due to yachts and boats being damaged and breaking from moorings.

the only way you can fish from the areas where the walls are is by leaving the rod there on a holder or leaning against the wall itself.
forget about squidding or soft plastics or slugs from that end, its doable but uncomfortable.

the other new marina side is awesome

Right time and right place..
Was only there for 20min or so couple of pinkies, goat fish and couta on plastics and I was out of there.

The end not being fished for so long was a joy to fish, Was a Fish a cast...

Yeah, I caught a squid over one of the wave screens and it was awkward as hell to work the jig.

It looks like the pier raises up so they aren't as high relative to the pier further down tho, so it might be ok further along when they open it up?

Further along is just metal rails not walls. So a lot easier to fish. Marina Side is open like portsea. And has the plastic kind of mesh on the bottom not the wood planks on the lower landing. Led lighting. Etc.
You can alao fish from the lower landing into the underside of the pier (has railings i believe. Cant remebwr now)which I think is awesome.
