Re: Mornington Pier Reopening
I think I may have to pay it a visit, but will wait till some of the hype dies down.
I do suspect that more pier will equal more fisherpersons and it will still be just as crowded if not more so.
But I guess that is just a fact of pier fishing around the bays, no matter how many piers they build or extend

Yeah. That end of the pier hasn't been fished in a long time. That's going to be chockers when it opens.
Already people that set up camp there for the whole day. hogging the Good spots.

The funny thing is, the best snapper fishing is back towards the bluestone area.poodoo wrote:Be interesting to see how packed it gets during snapper season.....reckon the end will be like mordi shoulder to shoulder.

Hehe yeah, I was thinking that myself, possibly might move people further down and leave the rock wall area a little less busyBrett wrote:The funny thing is, the best snapper fishing is back towards the bluestone area.poodoo wrote:Be interesting to see how packed it gets during snapper season.....reckon the end will be like mordi shoulder to shoulder.

Re: Mornington Pier Reopening
Might give it a miss unless I can get down mid week at some unsociable hour. Is the rock wall along the shore from the left hand side of the pier any good for fishing?

It is there is a reef edge out there according to a few blokes i met on the pier that had sounded it out. Lotsssss of snags though, mostly other rigs surprisingly.4liters wrote:Might give it a miss unless I can get down mid week at some unsociable hour.
