Martha Break dancing & God
Okay so I decided I’d go for a fish this morning even though the wind was supposed to be 30-40 Kmh+ and possible showers. Anyway I got up and finally got down to a good spot at 6.40 am and was greeted by wind and waves relatively high on the rocks with the tide still to come in.
Oh well I’m here now lets give it a go In between dodging the waves and trying to cast against the wind I managed to get going.
I found it quite challenging with the waves and wind pushing the line causing the rod to bounce excessively with the odd bit of seaweed knocking the line and getting me all excited. Trying to navigate the rocks and waves (in rain gear) is not my speciality and if anyone had been watching would have cracked up laughing watching this bloke practising his break dancing & rock n roll moves on the rocks waving his arms and occasionally a fishing rod got in on the act.
Anyway by around 8.45am with much berleying, dancing with the waves I was getting a bit despondent and said God please help me catch some fish (Ok so maybe I’m the only one that does this). Well Well guess what, not even 5 minutes later my rod bounces - argh not weeds n waves again but like a trigger happy gunslinger I’m up and got my hand on the rod. Tap tap so I strike gently - Oh yeah we’re on, in comes in a nice 40cm Salmon through the surf. Just as I get it off and put it in a safe spot the other rod bounces and I pick it up and there’s another fish on - Niiice. Anyway I get it on the rocks and I was tempted to keep it at 28cm but thought nah, so I threw it back. Got a few other good bites but no hookups. Got the other rod back in and about 10 minutes later on again tap tap and we’re on again. In comes another nice Sambo 41cm fat n juicy. About 5-10 minutes later and tap tap and it’s game on again & in comes a 40cm Salmon.
I had things to do but eventually pulled the pin around 10.30 really stoked with the results especially after donuts & a prayer turned to a nice catch.
With the fish bled and filleted nicely dinner tonight was awesome.
Thanks for reading.

Re: Martha Break dancing & God
Good on you for braving the weather FnM. You must have amused the fishing gods with some of your handy footwork earlier! hahaha.

Well done mate that's a good reward for those conditions

Top effort in those conditions, well done  cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them
