Mornington report 24/05

Post by wishing4fishing » Mon May 25, 2015 11:34 am

Gday all, hope every1 had the opportunity to wet a line over the weekend, weather was sensational.
Launched from Mornington on Sunday at 7am and headed towards Mt Martha, fished a few different spots throughout the morning and managed about a million micro pinkies! They were just everywhere and they were hungry and aggressive to attacking any bait i threw in. Needless to say that all pinkies went back in to fight another day, few flatties were on the bit also but again undersize.
A pod of dolphins also graced us with there presence and i must say they were extremely playful chasing the boat and jumping up out of the water, was a great site to see. All in all was a great day out even though didnt manage any thumpers.

Happy fishing.

Sounds like a nice day mate although no keepers. Im tempted to chuck
A sickie tomorrow and head down and hire a boat. Might try drifting for some squid and then grab some flattys if they are around

Flatties were definitely around and they were loving the bluebait and pilchard, didnt try for calamari so cant help you there. Looks like tomorrow and wed would be ideal!.

Just got back. No squid. Drifted for about an hour but there was zero wind so i wasnt drifting very far.

Mover over to near the mussle/oyster farm and chased flattys. Got a tonne. Kept 3 . Didnget a few pinkies as well but was mainly pulling up flattys.

Got to have a pod of dolphins swim infront of the boat as well. Perfect day out on the water

Sounds like a carbon copy of my day! Atleast weather held up. Beats being in the office no contest.

And a copy of my day, between Carrum and Frankston 9an-1pm, went for squid but never made it there were that many flatties about, ended up with 12 30-35, threw 5 back just size.
Great day on the water.
Cheers Jeff
