Might change plans for the arvo and head to portsea..just had good mate on the phone who's fished gunners this morning for a doughnut..said conditions were fantastic, just no fish..

had that a couple of weeks ago at altona with a puffer as big as a football on my lite spin rod sounded like it was grunting o_0

I caught a big one there too, utter pains in the arse to pull hooks out of with all the spines and those big teeth. And don't they just love getting gut hooked on circles?

spinning at portsea back beach or going to the pier?

I don't really know any places other than gunnamatta and blairegowrie back

What he said. Portsea back beach road, bottom carpark. Head down the big steps..low water three ish, so 3.30 will be my rough arrival time..
