Hi guys, went down to Mt Martha today to try and target some squid, was out on the rocks from 4:20 untill 8:20 and it turned out to be a great day for us, with myself taking 5 squid! the Shimano purple/gold 38T 3.0 did most of the damage taking 4 while the pink Rouge Calamar 2.5 got 2, dropped 1 on the rouge just lucky is was a baby no bigger than the size of my hand, and my dad managed to get a whopping zero!! also had a surf rod out with some squid as bait on it didn't get any bites though. anyway managed to be a great day for me anyway finally ended my 2 year squid drought with a nice feed for the family only managed to get a pic of em after dad cleaned em, (excuse the language in the photo)
Biggest was 18cm hood.

He has always fished a bit, more when he was younger but yeah we are both getting back into it a lot more now.

The wind actually wasn't a problem at all, started off at between 5-10 knots (just a guess) but by the time the sun started going down the wind was completely dead.DougieK wrote:Good work mate! I have one of those shimano's, goes well in the dawn.
