Cant comment for ppb as I dont fish it, but they were quite abundant in wpb last season, especially around the western side. I think striplett caught a fair few going by his reports

But to answer your question, yes. One of the best baits available.
I been catching slimies in wp for atleast 8 years now

Good luck with that mate.
In the past I have had a lot of success using fresh fillets with a twin hook setup. If you find it’s a bit soft, some bait mate around it works well :)

I was focusing on ppb since the OP said that's are be caught them.
Am aware that wpb has a lot of them from time to time. But never heard of them in ppb.

Slimeys usually when the water warms up, good bait but soft as **** when dead

Chil them down in ice slurry and they stay firmer longer. The sun makes them go soft
