How far from the shore do naval waters extend? That map shows the land areas but not the restricted waters.

Cheers.
Looks like essentially from Sandy Point to Stoney Point is off limits but you can go as close to land as you like without actually touching it south of Sandy Point.

The G man tried to walk into the point along the south facing beach one day. Said there were signs up saying absolutely no entry.

If anyone is approaching Hanns Inlet by boat they will see pylons that are signposted indicating the boundary.

We are in the process of obtaining a copy of the chart that shows the boundary of Naval Waters.

Cheers

With the government's attitude towards boats it'd be a shame if someone ran afoul of them through a simple navigational error

You'd have to be fairly blind or ignorant to accidentally go into and sit in Hanns Channel/inlet.
The channel is their main concern as it is fairly narrow and the only way in or out by water, it's navy waters all the way through the channel until the bay proper. The surrounding mud and Sandy Point not so much, I've never been or heard of anyone kicked off the water when fishing ontop of the bank between the channel and Sandy Point

I left the service's in '87 after doing my apprenticeship as a fitter/armourer.I can assure you they had real bullet's & highly trained people that knew how to use them, from varying distances, even way back then :o_0: when it came to protecting restricted military area's.
