can always get the squiddles at quail mate, she'll be right  , tends to be a lot of jellies on the big tides
Haha shows how much I know of the area, don’t even try for them. Chucked out a small bait hoping for something small like whiting or something and a gummy bait out. Was a great day for it, that’s until the wind went to gale earlier then forecasted. Was fun trying to pull the anchor in while waves crash over the front of the boat, and tryna putt a 20hp boat back to the pier down the channel.
hahahah, **** i hate pulling anchors up in strong current and wind, one day ill get myself an electric anchor winch
You and me both mate.
But isnt that what your deckie is for lol
I usually fish solo most of the time, seem to prefer it that way. I also don’t have too many mates that keen on fishing, should probably try tee up with a few more people on here

Safer too, there was a guy who got caught up in his anchor rope and drowned last year....that's the stuff of nightmares. (http://www.ntnews.com.au/news/northern- ... ecc7bb526f)

I didnt have too many mates either that like fishing.
A few years back i started putting up deckie spots on here and found some good mates.
I have a few regulars about 6 or so that come out all the time depending on which day it is and some we are good mates and chat off the forum.
I have come accross a few that come out that but heads with for what ever reason and they just dont get a second invite

Once you find some good blokes just keep asking them out and you have a ball lol

Just going for a lazy day squidding, will drift a few of my spots on Quail and then bottom of tyabb bank too. Depending how I go, might give it a go for a grey or red one we’ll see

Being a beginner , was told any southerly wind is no good fishing at Westernport or tyabb banks? If it is true, at what knot of wind would people avoid going out?
Thanks

Haha, honestly, I love my anchor winch, chopped up to 40 kts the other day and had a 8km trip back home. Was well worth having the kit
