Probably. Its only a gunnery installation. Not that into defence but from an outsiders view it seems like something that's well past it's effectiveness used by date4liters wrote:Why is that? The navy base?

It should be illegal to fly drones in more areas - I watched someone flying one right in the path of the helipad on the Yarra last year!

I can understand defence not wanting small, camera equipped gadgets flying around their installations.cobby wrote:Probably. Its only a gunnery installation. Re: FLINDERS BLUEFIN
I live 5 min from Cerberus. It’s a big base with all sorts happening. There’s a large radar array there, and signs saying no photography allowed. Large military choppers frequent the area.
If it’s restricted airspace I can’t imagine they’d take kindly to drones buzzing around.
Probably why the tuna like the area, military fortifications

Re: FLINDERS BLUEFIN
It is West Head and they have a gunnery range there, where they regularly fire off a few shots.4liters wrote:Why is that? The navy base?
They announce a warning over the radio when the range is going live.

Re: FLINDERS BLUEFIN
Great footage! Only a matter of time before massive restrictions are put into place for drones, along with licencing, etc. Dicks who use them incorrectly do deserve to have them shot out of the air.

Re: FLINDERS BLUEFIN
You find there are some drone operaters are good and some just spoil it for the masses
Re: FLINDERS BLUEFIN
Not to drone on ... but has anyone actually heard of any tuna captures around Flinders to date? And would it be possible to fish for them off the gunnery rocks themselves?
