Day after Boxing Day ting
With a tide change being just before 9am, we thought we would pop out for a couple of hours for a short bash on the ting.
Pretty much everything went wrong that could, but we were eventually out at gentlemens hours to catch the low. It's amazing how the tide change can fire them up, and by 11am we were heading back in. Ended up with 21 between 30-44cm, and left them biting but the schoolies had taken over by then. Will be heading out the next two days so didn't feel the need to slog it out and bag out.
Not a huge amount of by catch just a few gurnard and yakkas. Still, nice day out on the water, even if the southerly made it a bit lumpy until the tide turned and ran with the wind, flattening it out.
Hopefully have a few more reports over the coming days.
Ps: had a massive run that pulled the hooks (5/0 circles) after about 30 seconds. I'm telling myself it was a ray and the head shakes were just the line rubbing against its wings haha

Nice feed scraglor
Ill be heading out tuesday morning and hope to get on to some also.
Where did you go ?
I'll probably hit the bottom of middle spit or either of the banks.
Will definitely be targeting pinkies also, those pan sized fellas are great eating.

We were just put off Hastings a little North of the cut. I'm thinking I might try the other side of the spit in the morning, see if I can rustle up some interest.
As an aside, mussels were the bait of choice with squid barely getting a touch.

excellent catch. I am trying to get time to give them another go up here. It has been a bit busy so will probably wait till the new year.
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

Thanks mate! I've been hanging out to finally get some fishing time myself. It's hard this time of year. Went out again today and got another reasonable bag. Will pop up a report a bit later
