Patto river 22.4

Post by Tangles_1 » Tue Apr 22, 2014 10:17 pm

Spent a few hours near the ramps tonight, got 2 small bream. Other people got much of the same nothing. Used prawns, pippies and beer! Old mate near us hooked a seal and swore it was a shark that snapped his line even though everyone else saw it cruising around afterwards, interesting evening.

Seals in the Patto? Never heard of it or seen one. Interesting indeed.

I didnt know they were anywhere near there. I thought it was a dolphin or a scuba diver in a Halloween outfit. But out of 4 people everyone thinks it was a seal. Its got me buggered but we watched it go up and down a few times.

Its not unlikely I'm wrong but it was large, looked furry and kept breaking the surface. I didnt even think there were seals in PFB.

Seals are not uncommon in PPB, I've seen them plenty of times up the Yarra. If you see a seal, make sure you retrieve any keeper nets you might have in the water unless you want to donate your catch.

A sea lion crossed the road and ended up in someone's front yard a few years ago in Brighton:
