Frankston 8/1

Post by Mark1981 » Wed Jan 08, 2014 5:21 pm

Hey finished up at Frankston this morning as Mornington pier was packed! Got to Frankston at about 5:45am and there was plenty of people around the middle of the pier. The wind was blowing hard off the land and straight out so casting a lure gave you an extra 10-15m on your cast.. Using a silver metal lure on my 3rd cast I hooked up with a Salmon pushing near 1kg.. Plenty of salmon caught up and down pier but by 7:30am it was all over..
Went for walk also down kananook creek and saw schools of bream 25-30cm approx. threw soft plastics at them but couldn't get a touch from them (damn toadies hitting soft plastics!!!)

I've never really used plastics before but saw the bream and couldn't convince them to take a bait so I thought I'd try again on them...
Now I realize I should of known better since they are bloody scavengers

I'd be using prawn for the bream. But then again I wouldn't even fish Kananook creek lol

yeh once at docklands, I could see litally 100s of bream around 1 pylon. ALL 30CM+.
I put Baits, chicken, prawn ,pilchard, pipi. ALL kinds on just a hook and fluro line.
I saw so many bream just pass it and not even take a bite, was annoying as hell.
