blue rock bass

have been fishing blue rock dam for a year or two now all land based. I have the trout and redfin worked out but i just carnt find a bass. I lure fish with good results and do well on bait two dont seem so keen on the plactics. Any one catching them and any tips. Thanks

Get some form of water transport and keep working things out. You're close to being up the creek without a paddle being landbased. Something flashy to spur them on this time of year should work once you find them

The bait? Bass in an impoundment will very rarely hunt especially this time of year. They school up in big numbers in deep water and only really eat what comes past their noses. Flashy lures like spinnerbaits jerked in their faces works well but you can't do that without a boat and a sounder

That explains some things, I just started chasing bass in lake disappointment after a mate told me had caught a couple on poppers.
Last weekend I could see them on the sounder @ 20m-25m but not a touch on bait or lures.
I just bought a spinner bait this week, looks like another trip in the tinny soon.

Is the fact that the water temp is only 8.7 degrees a factor why they are not biting?
