johnnycjay I've taken a few blokes from the forum out on my boat and I am happy to take you out as well.

I try to get out once or twice per week. I like to fish out deep for gummies and snapper in the local bays and bottom bashing as well as lure trolling offshore.

I'm in Doncaster and when I go locally I launch either at Mordialloc, Sorrento or Hastings. Offshore I usually go to Pt Fairy and Portland.

You dont need a boat licence as long as someone else in the boat has one and they are supervising you at all times.

If you do want to come with me, you will need a PFD for offshore and the RIP, your own gear and be willing to contribute to the expenses (fuel and washdown).

Can I just say it's bloody heartwarming the responses I've received. You all deserve a pat on the back. I always kinda pegged fishing as a solidarity activity but with forums like this it's becoming a real community and thats awesome.
