Elephant fish in PPB.. unheard of?

Post by MsShimano » Mon Mar 13, 2017 1:04 pm

Well... I heard that it's very rare to catch a elephant fish of Port Phillip bay. I started of at 6am fishing of mount Eliza and got a few nice pinkies.. I then headed up towards the artificial reef where I was chasing some 1kg + snapper. I hooked onto something decent and when I was reeling in was quite surprised to find a nice elephant... it took a big pilly on Terez.. she measured 87cm and weigh in at 2.8kg... bled her right away and got some nice fillets.. any recommendations on how to cook them?

Of course I talk to my self while fishing.. sometimes I need expert advice! :fishing:

In a curry the fish does not break down stays in cubes and hides the taste of the fish by itself. I have caught them at Clifton springs as well as the Barwon river
