Oliver hill pier
Some new lures arrived yesterday, the smaller 25 gram mode. Rigged them last night and then this morning headed to the small pier.
Casting away and during the retrieve a couple of bumps, then the next few casts and retrieves some more bumps, so slowing down the retrieve and bang I was on. It was a feisty little fish, finally landing him, let him go and then onto another. Caught and released at least 6 salmon, around the legal size this morning.
Conditions were perfect, very little wind, the sun was rising, and just enough chop on the water.

Re: Oliver hill pier
Nice one! I've often thought about throwing lures off there when the main pier is busy. I reckon you would have luck around the rocks there too. I'll need to put a bit of effort in and find out, although it looks like it might get a bit hairy this weekend haha. It might fire the fish up though I guess

I caught my personal best flathead from that little pier.
Had some swimmers say to me that there were no fish there, and I thought to myself tell the fish that.

hahaha Love it.
I've done quite well from the rocks there as well.

I always look at that little pier on the way past and wonder if I should have a quick fish off it, but I never have. It's less than a k from my house so maybe I should start paying more attention to it :water:

Nice going Wolly
25gm lure, how far can you cast, although I know distance isn't always needed.
I tried a 60gm lure this morning but the bait worked better for me with the Salmon.
