So flathead come off bottom to chase sebille.
Is troll speed slower then normal?
I generally drift n use plastics for flathead.
To many boats kayak, helicopter , catch a fish, catch a fish

don't know what jeff does but i just troll at 2-3 km/h with a stack of line out to get the HB deep, I like to have it hitting the bottom every paddle stroke this sort of makes the HB hit the bottom then rise up a little then hit the bottom again (or at least thats the idea) kind of like slow rolling a hb and putting a little jerk in every second or two to get it to hit the bottom.

Yep, I've even got them in 7m, probably going 2-3km (GPS speed)an hour using an electric and the lure may not be going as deep as stated

Hi Alex, just saw your reply, I use the electric motors iPilot and try along the 5m line, there's usually waves side on so I guess that helps get the lure a bit of action, it's a boring way to do it but I'm just after a feed.
Cheers

Ive caught flatties on xraps while trying for snapper. Havent done a great deal of it, and i feel like bait is probably a better option, but im gonna give it more of a crack this coming season

I webt to tackleworld last november asking for taildancers. The bloke was like, oh youre like the 5th person asking for them so they can chase reds. We dont order those.

I was like, wtf, thanks for catering to ur customers
