Nice work alex.
I was out on ppb too on saturday. It was like glass.

Im alao interested in this whole spiking thing. Can't deal with the whole fish struggling and dying thing. Rather quickly or them out of their misery.
The hardest part is to work out where to spike them. Bit harder when they're in a net I think. .
Could try a baseball bat style option but not sure if feasible on a yak...

on a yak the net holds them still enough - remember you have no deck to work with so they are across your legs
a 75 cm snapper is as wide or wider than most good fishing kayaks so holding one while dispatching it isn't that easy
bigger than that also get heavier and harder to handle
the net is the go --

the net also holds them still so the chances of wearing a spike is less

if you sus out the iki site snapper have a crese line on in front of the gills just above this line is the spot ( ether side will do )
just push the brain spike in this spot give it a bit of a wiggle to make sure it mashes the brain , the fish will instantly flare and die

much easier than bashing it's head in with a prest

my iki tool is 6 - 8 mm dia and was just a broken screw driver ground to a point - I drilled a hole through the handle and put a leash on it to save it from a watery death in case I drop it
My kayak PBs
Gummy shark 128 Cm - Elephant fish 85 Cm - Snapper 91 Cm - KG Whiting 49 Cm - Flathead 55 Cm - Garfish 47 Cm - Silver Trevally 40 Cm - Long Tail Tuna 86 Cm - snook 64 Cm - Couta 71 Cm - Sth Calamari 44 Cm hood - Cobia 117 cm

Great stuff Alex. Pinkies are awesome fun, I reckon they go harder than Bream and are easier to catch!
