Went there last night after doing no good elsewhere in the arvo, we got there at 8pm and sounded fish everywhere but couldnt get a bite.
A lot of guys bagged out. Also sounded around the front of willy looks like the fish are starting to group up, its just a matter of getting them to bite.

Do you think it has anything to do with the recent heavy rains? (they all seemed to be congregating near the mouth of the Yarra)

You're spot on there mate. Whenever there is heavy rain that whole area even to in front of the footy ground in willie fish really well. Also for land based fishos.Mattblack wrote:Do you think it has anything to do with the recent heavy rains? (they all seemed to be congregating near the mouth of the Yarra)
Light running sinkers with a 4 or 5/0 and half a pillie or just a cube.

Has happened same time every year for the last few years, im thinking it may have more to do with the water temp. The temp in close to port melbourne was 15.8 last night where as the footy ground was 14.8.Mattblack wrote:Do you think it has anything to do with the recent heavy rains? That's only surface temp though. The warmer fresh water is sitting on the top but underneath is salt water and usually colder. It would warm up the water a bit without a doubt but I think its more to do with the food and bait activity.fitzy90 wrote:Has happened same time every year for the last few years, im thinking it may have more to do with the water temp. we can agree to disagree as ive caught them there this time last year when there was no rain at all, whatever it is hopefully it lasts for a while.Sinsemilla wrote:That's only surface temp though.
