They seem to go off the best during the last hour of sunlight, once the sun goes down you use burley and bait under a float or paternoster rig.
Under a float, what depth are we looking at fishing?
I have caught them using both those methods but more with a paternoster.
One time I was fishing for gars with my usual gar setup about 50 cm under the float and was getting double headers

Yes they do work it's a matter of personal preference. Rather than trebles I like to use single hooks now. Much easier taking the hook out lol

About half a meter is good, also put a glow stick on your float so you can see it go down. Better if its low wind and fish with the wind blowing over your shoulder so it holds your float out other wise it will go under the pier and you will get snagged.

Just hop around mate. Try a pier walk and cast around left and right. If you have no luck go to the next one. There is a small pier on the right side of station pier as well that's worth a go. Princess and then the 2 rockwalls to the right are all good

I have had most of my success late in the afternoon. But right now sounds like practicing is more important and if you catch it's just a bonus
