Re: Quick Arvo session 12/5/16
I haven't caught any really big ones from that spot but not far from there I have. I remember one night I was there last year in September when I caught a couple of nice ones. 49 cm and 58 cm. nothing real big but I have heard of some massive ones landed from there. I caught those 2 right at the end casting on the right side not far from the entrance to the marina.
Have never caught a gummy from there though.

Yea I don't see why not. When I fish with my mate he often likes to use California squid and does quite well with them. He usually likes to use a whole one rigged up with 2 hooksCrusher777 wrote:Would squid also be ok?

where do you get this bait? Also what do you mean 2 hooks and the squid? I use 2 hooks but one on top and one on bottom.

Your rig sounds like a paternoster mate. The one I'm talking about is a twin snelled rig. 2 hooks through the squid. My mate who I fish with usually likes targeting bigger fish and loves using big baits lol but big baits doesn't always mean big fishCrusher777 wrote:where do you get this bait? Re: Quick Arvo session 12/5/16
My friend uses big hooks usually a 5/0 sometimes even a 6/0. But you can use much smaller hooks for that rig. It really comes down to how big your bait is that you are thinking of usingCrusher777 wrote:What size hooks you need for that rig?
