St kilda pier

Post by nick » Mon Apr 11, 2016 10:36 pm

Sorry for lack of reports for ages. Fished st kilda pier from 2.30 pm- 6.45pm caught 6 pinkies 5 of them were decent size 3 between 34-37 cm and two 39 and 42cm. I also caught two trevally which were around 27cm. Pier was absolutely packed strarted filling up about 4 o clock. Happy hour started at about 5 pm. If your reading this tonight and can get down there do it. I also heard brighton has been fishing well last week for pinkies. Everyone had a few pinkies and i didnt see hardly any undersize caught.

Well done Nick. Was it high tide when the fish came on the bite? Cheers

Hey that looks good!
I was at brighton yesterday ,around 1030... Tide was around 11am .. checking out if there was any action on the pier, and there were a couple of very serious looking fishos pulling out what look like the above fish ,at the end of the pier on the rocks..
I thought bream , but they might have been pinkys, I'm very new to fishing
And it was cool to see... They looked like decent size plate fish too..

There seemed to be a lot of squid ink around too.. Maybe from the early morning or night before,
Has any one been catching squid on the Brighon pier recently ?
Thought I might try my luck soon

My mates and I used to catch plenty from the breakwall and big ones too! Haven't given the it a go for awhile. But if you saw lots of squid ink that's a good sign mate :)
