Caught many off Altona pier ??
Mouth of werribe river ?
To many boats kayak, helicopter , catch a fish,catch a fish

I know guys that fish those areas and do very well with the salmon, but I haven't tried there for a while myself.

August/September last year I got a few at the end of the Werribee rock wall, there's a lot of bay trout there

Last year I started spinning towards the end of April and managed to catch some real early thinking it would be a really good season and then it died lol pretty much nothing for the rest of the season except for one Friday where I bagged out after getting a call from a friend that there was a huge school.

I saw a heap of guy's bagging out on bay trout from the end of Altona pier, nothing big but it was a fish a cast, lures were small white bait size metal lures..

About a couple of weeks ago late into the afternoon.. looking out to sea they were on the right hand side of the pier.

I love eating bay trouts, and there good fun catching as well, just go super light on the gear like 1-3kg rod and you'll have a ball with them
