Good day at altona

Post by Timi200 » Tue Apr 16, 2013 8:05 pm

Went to altona At about 4:pm, was supposed to go for Cala then go for the sambos but when I got there it was blowing fairly strong south at about 15-19 knots so no squidding today, headed towards the black stick to look for birds then HOLY *@%# I've never seen so many birds in my life, it looked like one of those Antarctica shows, there were thousands of birds, started trolling with not to much biteing I think there was just heaps and heaps of bait fish and not to many salmon but don't get me wrong they were there busting up, trolled for about 1 and a half hours picking up around 20 and released a few, average size was around a kilo, so was a great day out, and one more thing I took a few pics on my iPhone but it doesn't let me upload it, it says all this stuff about pixels and crap, and help will be apricated, i want u to how cool it was, cheers TIM.

Excellent stuff mate!

You could had also anchored up about 50m-100m away and cast straight into the bait ball.

The site allows up to 1000x1000pixels so you will need to reduce the dimensions of the photos and then try again.

There was no chance of anchoring the bait was moving very quickly but when my mate hooked up I was casting slugs and catching a few to, will try to reduce pix also.

good job. :a_goodjob:

cast on or troll the edges of the bait ball. That is where you will ge the salmon.

I went to lagoon pier this afternoon but the wind was howling. Too hard to cast. The bait ball came before dark, birds were diving but the baitball never came close enough for us to reach. Got me one nice flatty on SP but no action on salmon. One other spinner hooked on a salmon but he dropped it. He got himself a nice flatty too on SP.

you need to simpy resize the picture. My Samsung Galaxy can crop and resize pictures. Throw your iPhone and get a Samsung. LOL. My PC has Microsoft Picture manager and I can crop and resize pictures.

I am not sure why you guys are having issues posting pictures. I can post big files but the forum server automoatically reduce the size for me.
