Pink pink no ting ting ... Campbell's Cove.

Post by Sebb » Sun Feb 17, 2019 2:28 pm

Nice morning, water was flat, few other kayak fishos. Heaps of boats too.
First time out of Campbell's Cove, one kayak fisho said just go straight out for whitings and some squids or to the RAAF jetty for pinkies.

While there were a lot of undersized pinkies keeping me busy, no other species apart from big as jellyfish.
Hence, the "pink pink no ting ting" title.

It's the dawn of the pinkies!

Total 18 caught.

The micro pinkies can be a lot of fun if you're using very light gear -- e.g. the sort of stuff you'd use on bream or trout.

Yea I used 6lb and 1-3 kg rod. It was fun, but was hoping a legal one or some whitings.

Good trip regardless, pinkies are better than donuts, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Nice report and pics.
Those pinkies can be annoying but fun on very light gear.

I was also out yesterday and on Saturday around Cambells cove and the raaf base. Not a kgw in sight for me over the 2 mornings. As im new to fishing this area, can someone please tell me if they generally are in the area or not? We were just getting smashed by tiny pinkies as everyone else has said.

Cheers -Rob
