Werribee River Mouth fishing report

Post by LINwAd » Fri Dec 22, 2017 12:13 pm

Hey all.

I went out to the Werribee River Mouth area for the first time last weekend and it is an interesting place. The smell that comes with the wind off the river is less then desirable not really sure why. Fished with two other guys but only managed two fish.. one flathead off the jetty and a bream off the beach. Both were caught on a 2.5inch zman curly tail in motor oil colour. As the tide was outgoing there was heaps of weed that was a bit annoying but still had fun.

As with most of my reports here is a video to tell the story :)

Incredible! As a local, I've fished Werribee for years and have always been adamant that lures are ineffective down there. Great to see someone disprove my thoughts. I've always fished with bait down there and never once caught a flatty. It has always been bream. Might have to go out and grab some soft plastics now!
Great video mate. Hope to see you down there sometime.

Lures are gold for flathead! Always worth a try.
