another slow day off werribee

Post by Nude up » Sat Feb 11, 2017 8:11 pm

My son wanted a day fishing he is not a massive fan but likes a social day on the water. We were going to go friday but he ended up being sick. We launched out off werribee south around 8 with that horrible weed almost making the ramp unusable I must have spent 20 minutes getting it off my trailer its really hard when dry.
We headed over to grassy point I let him drive he was happy we drifted around the red stick but even with the drouge out it was a quick drift. We only managed 3 squid so we headed to the radio marker off portarlington and drifted for flathead loads of little ones and pinkies around the 27 cm mark. Around 12 we headed into portarlington for fish and chips and a coffee I think the main reason my son comes fishing.
After lunch we headed back to werribee and drifted in around 6mt of water and picked up some flathead for a feed we were off the water by 3 leaving dad to clean the fish.
One thing I did notice today I have never seen so many kayaks on the water before.

Yep kayaks are breeding fast. Too many of them not fit for the conditions unfortunately.

Weed is supposed to be cleaned off the ramp, DAILY.
If it isn't, let me know.
Never had the problem, when the Coast Guard ran the ramp.
