I think Werribee is fast becoming my new favourite fishing spot.
Went out today for a quick whiting and squid session off werribee, got to out spot by 5.30am (2.3 meters).
The whiting went nuts early picked up 15 or so in reasonably quick time , all good size between 33 - 40 cms. Like a switch they went off the bite by 6:15 and the reason why was the squid had set in, no need to cast jigs the squid were thick, big and hungry and all under the boat, just dropped the jigs down and rods in the holders.
Got our bag of squid in the next 30 mins and had to wait for them to move off for the whiting to show back up, all up we kept 20 and released another 20 - 30 squid, have never seen them in such good numbers and quality size. Eventually the squid moved off and the whiting moved back in and picked up another 12 over the next hour and a half, picked up a few gar fish as well, back at the ramp by 10.30.
Squid were on white sephias and the whiting and gars were all on squid.

Great report and catch! Interesting that the squid were pretty much all the same (good)size!
