Werribee South landbased 6 Dec

Post by Piglet77 » Wed Dec 07, 2016 10:22 am

As the weekends this time of year seem to be filled with everything but fishing i ventured down Werribee South around 7pm. Original plan was to hit the rock wall but decided to drive past a spot on the beach that hasnt produced for a while. Tide was high and nice chop on the water so decided to give the beach a go.

Within minutes first bite on half pilchard.. missed. Re-bait and out again... bite and missed. I was getting decent hits every cast and failing to hook up. Slight change to bait presentation... bang i am on. Damn Banjo. This continues for about 2 hours with 6 banjos landed and released.

10pm hits time to go home as next day is a work day.

The banjos were thick but i just got the feeling with a little more time and persistence i would have been rewarded. I did miss a decent run and bitten of on another that was certainly not acting like a banjo. Now trying to rearrange things so i can have a decent crack at it again.

Hey Bowl,
I fished the boat channel near the entrance a few time without much success. I put it down to other than being a little deeper, it is still shallow water and any boat activity is going to scatter anything thats around.

Jet Ski ramp would be a great option tonight. There are a few good holes in that area and with a couple of days with good chop on the water i think it will produce. Just shattered i cant join you this evening!
