Just gotta keep trying. What bait are you using? As the other guys said, target a species.

Re: What's On The Bite
Hi all,
I'm a newby to the fishing game living in the western suburbs and looking for somewhere to take my son to catch a fish. We just came back from a trip to the north coast of NSW where my in-laws introduced us to pumping for nippers and fishing for whiting (unfortunately the night we went fishing conditions were against us and my in-laws only managed a couple of small fish while me and my son struck out). I was thinking of pumping for bass yabbies down near Altona dog beach as recommended on another topic and then heading to Altona pier on a high tide. Can anyone let me know if I'm heading down the right track or not.
