Carp session at Cherry Lake with howto Video & Pics

Post by thebigal_au » Sat Jan 13, 2018 3:23 pm

Hey everyone, I ventured down to Cherry lake yesterday with a couple of mates for a bit of Carp fishing whilst the weather was overcast and raining. Was a lot of fun we ended up catching 12 Carp of various sizes using Scrub worms and corn as bait on a very simple running sinker rig. We also had a heap of hook ups but lots fish to snags. The biggest carp caught was 64 cm ( almost lot the rod ).

Was a fun afternoon out despite the rainy conditions, and we also got to meet a lot of nice interesting people.

I have put together a video of the session which is also a how to instructional piece. This can be seen at https://youtu.be/MfMcCOy6S9E
Enjoy and please remember to subscribe to my YouTibe channel

Best Regards

Nice report and pics.

I've been thinking of returning to Cherry Lake sometime this summer...this report may just inspire me...

Nice catch, good eating or fertiliser? How do you best cook empty, and how do you handle the tiny bones

From my perspective not good eating usually fertilizer or snapper bait, however the locals there were extremely keen to take them home for a feed so we happily passed them around. Cheers
