New to Docklands

Post by fishing_minnow » Mon Oct 02, 2017 7:08 pm

Hi guys, I'm new to fishing and would like to go fishing in Docklands. I have 6lb mono line on my 3000 reel and a 2-4kg rod. I honestly don't know how to fish the Docklands area and I have heard that there are nice bream and trevally around the pylons in front of Etihad Stadium. Can someone help me out on what I need to get fishing at Docklands??? I also have an Olive Cranka Crab and a Rapala X-Rap extreme action slashbait which is in XR-8.

PS. I'm on a tight budget. :water:

Grab some cheap metal blades off ebay or soft plastics in grub or monster shapes. Drop down by the pylons until it hits the bottom, then work it very very slowly parallel to the pier lifting about 10-15cm each time off the bottom.

Cranka crabs are NOT cheap and those docks bream will probably dust you easy on 6lb if you're new to it

Otherwise go easy mode and just get some prawns from woolies on a light 1/12 or 1/16oz jighead

Yup Go easy mode and then have a flick on the way back , slowly build up your tolerance to doughnuts.
There is always more to learn , fish to catch , places to see and friends to make.
