Swan Street Bream

Post by ChrisD » Mon Jan 09, 2017 10:00 am

Headed for the Yarra, Swan Street Bridge section, last night.
Managed half a dozen bream, 4 little buggers and 2 that were 25cms plus. Sorry no photos....some idiot forgot to charge his phone and is was flat.
All were caught on chicken. Also tried worms but they didn't seem to get much attention. And tried again to flick some lures but still just can't stick at it and gave up again and threw a second bait out :)

If you're struggling with the lures you could also try starting off with a bio-bait type plastic like a gulp sandworm or gulp crabbie. I've had good results with gulp although I've moved away from it now due to the faff of storing it etc .... 1/8 jighead and fish it with a shakey slow retrieve along the bottom or alternatively just put it on a running sinker rig and drag or hop it along the bottom.

Might get your confidence up with artificials once you hook into a few ..... Just a thought
