Quick session on the river

The last few weeks I've been coming home empty handed, with little interest from the mulloway (or anything else for that matter). Even so, I had a couple of hours to get out and about on Sun. afternoon - not much going on, but I saw someone catch a decent salmon across the river from me. Shortly after the surface started exploding with fish - I quickly tied on a lure, but by the time I managed to get in a cast, the school was gone. Then just as I was about to tie on a new bait rig, the bait runner started screaming out on my other rod - after some solid runs, I managed to land a very solid pinky of 40cm and 1.1kg. Thanks to the helpful bystander who helped with the net, too!
