Can anyone suggest a spot that's good a decent chance of picking up a bream or two? I've tried patto with no success, don't want to go to Docklands or maribyrnong. I'm going to try balcombe today.

Re: Bream spots in the SE of Melbourne
I fished Balcombe creek this morning and Sunday without a fish. Got a decent take Sunday but it spat the hook. I've fished there half a dozen times now at different spots with lures and bait. Had no bites on lures of any kind. Had better luck with prawns, but the baits mostly get picked off by toadies or small salmon.
I'd be interested to hear how you go.

I'd be interested in this as well. Another one of these fish just seems no matter what I do I can't hook one.

Didn't end up going. Picked up a couple of cala at Mornington instead. My one and only bream was from balcombe on a squidgy Bug a few weeks back. Plenty to be seen but only one fish was fooled. Will try to make it back later this week.
