A few more Bream today from the Maribrnong

Post by Fishsniper » Sat Oct 12, 2013 9:20 pm

I went and tried my luck for some Bream today and ended up getting about 8 of which half were about 23cm but there were some nice chunky ones amounst them.
Got 2 on plastics and the rest on Tube worm.
Cheers

Nice catches fishsniper! Solid session by the looks of it!

Might I ask what size jighead and method of retrieval?

Did you get much cast distance with such a light jighead? Seems quite light!

They look like healthy fish! Even in the dirty water of the Marby. Did you try them?

Thanks for the help!

Nice work fishsniper. Did you work the plastics along the rock walls either side of the pontoon , down the pontoon itself or did you just cast straight out ? I've been curious as to whether the bottom straight out is just a desert or if it has some decent structure.

I get to fish so infrequently I'm keen to get onto a bream of two next time I'm at edgewater - hopefully down there in 4 weeks or so ... Loving the reports and pics being put up though - nice to know the local spot is a productive place to fish :) well done, nice fish and good to see some on plastics.

I fish off the little jetty and cast my plastics straight out, the bottom is mainly sand but it does have quite a few weed beds, I just burley up the area in front of me and cast out.
You will catch more fish if you can get a high tide early morning or early evening. Yesterdays high tide was at 8.30pm and I started fishing about 6.00pm.
Hope that helps
