Sunday 16/10/2011 , Bream Action .

Post by Fish-Hunter » Sun Oct 16, 2011 7:23 pm

I Went out for a Bream fish today , so i headed to my favourite Southern Black Bream spot :water: . As ussual the Bream were on cue & i had a great time fishing the run out tide , with my southern bream rods & light line . I caught my legal limit of 10 & released many more unharmed , fish i kept were from 29cm to biggest @ 39cm & in between . Big bream certainly put up a great fight & on very light gear are a great way to spend a day fishing , although they aint easy to catch & i had to be aware of the lightest bites . ;)

Yeh i love eating Bream , i also grew up on Bream & been fishing for em since the late 70's , early 80's . i consistantly fish Bream year round & have had some spectacular fish caught through the years , alot can be learned "fishing wise" from the Humble Southern Bream . :)

I just thought i'd mention it , i often release the big breeding Bream & keep the smaller ones , i only kept 4 of these large fish this trip & released several large Bream back & in the past couple of months gone by i released alot of Bream in roe & kept none @ all for food . i enjoy a seafood meal & these fish are not wasted @ all & will be eaten by several family members & myself . :)

I ussually limit myself to 5 Bream & release the bigger breeding Bream , but my uncle who is getting too old to fish of late . asked me if a get some Bream will i be kind enough to bring him some , so that he can enjoy a seafood meal . i never go over my legal limits & sizes , i do the right thing & wont be dissappointed to see Bream bag limit reduced to 5 fish & size limit raised to 30cm . ;)
