Bream newbie - advice appreciated
Hey all!
New to the forum, loving it so far!
Just moved to Melbourne from country Vic, always wanted to catch
Some bream! Hit up docklands the other day just to check it all out.
No luck yet (few buggers stealing bait!) but just wondering if you
Guys would offer any advice to a bream beginner.
Cheers
Jake

Make sure you hang onto your rod, because when they hit, they hit hard. Almost lost a rod or two in the water because of that.
Freshwater yabbies are a gun bait.

Jake, there are a few bream anglers at the docklands, have a look at what they do, I think most would use lures - vibes & soft plastics.

Live Bass Yabbies work great , docklands is a great place to start your Bream search & the Yarra river also has good Bream fishing also.

If using lures black micro vibes work well at the docklands. Baits would be live bass yabbies, chicken and prawns

all day! every day! mornings & evenings are good, just be mindful of the public & no fishing areas. I hear the security guys give fishos the move along

All of the above is great advice - are you more into using bait or lures?
