Tambo river queens bday wknd

Post by rabah 01 » Tue Jun 11, 2013 4:26 pm

Hey guys
Was great weather for fishing down at Swan Reach on Sunday/Monday this past long weekend.
Fishermen were in their hundreds along tambo river... Never seen it that busy
Fishing was great though. Managed 17keepers between 3ppl, oldies were drinking more than fishing tbh... biggest being 34cm
Probably threw back at least 30 around 25-27cm so there was always something nibbling the line which was great fun.
Worms worked wonders again but havnt seen bream take to prawns as well as they did in a very long time!
Looking fwd to our next visit!!

Here's the photo of our biggest catch!

Good fish + Good weather, makes for a good weekend, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Great report , nice catch also . I remember in the 80's pre fishing licence or bag limit days , the size limit was 24cm for Bream then . Many Bream fishermen would fish the Tambo river & bring Esky's to store hundreds of Bream smh . Thankfully those days are behind us now , with the introduction of bag & size limits ;)

I remember those times very well, maybe not the 80's coz i was born in 86 but the late 90's and early 00's were much the same.
It is good to see there's still plenty of fish in numbers.. Theres been many times when I have gone up and comeback with barely 5 bream.
It is just luck sometimes as well. You either have that great spot where the fish are biting or u don't...

Cheers Rich

Well done, it's great to hear that there are still some fish left down that way!
