Bait: I always use live beach worms or bass yabbies.
Hooks: No. 6 or 4 long shank.
Rigs: Running ball sinker. Size of sinker depends on current.
I normally use 12lb mono line, a light rod with very flexible tip.
A bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work.

For me I use a paternoster rig with a medium sized sinker and a medium sized hook (I dont know hook sizes very well) with prawns as bait.

Where do you get your live beach worms from may I ask???

I normally go to Altona Beach to the left of the boat ramp & behind the club at low tide. push aside the weeds & small rocks then dig using gardening tools.

Here's one I got on bait, caught on squid in the Noosa river QLD. Not a very good fish but I'll post it anyway...

Guys, I just got my bream`s set up for the boxing day.
I don`t know anything about catching this fish, so I just asked to the guy in the shop.
I have got:
SCHNEIDER High performance braid – 7LBS
100% fluorocarbon line Sunline siglon FC 10lb
Mustag Long Baithholder size 6 92647NPBLN
I`m qut warried about the hooks, I read everywhere the size must be 1/0 or 2/0. Do you reckon I can go with it? Thanks

Hey Luca, if you're fishing around Melbourne, size 6 long bait holder hooks are fine.
If fishing Docklands, use a running sinker rig with a small ball sinker. Also use fresh bait like live worms & bass yabbies. Just drop your bait straight down near a pylon until sinker hits the bottom, then wind up about 15 cm & let the water moves your bait around.
Good luck mate.
