ive used the olive, blacks, browns and had success.

be prepared to lose them (and at 25ish each) they can hurt. Especially when you lose 2 in a few casts...

I really like using vibes for bream. Particularly good if the fish are slow and you are casting near pylons

The Olive ones and black are good for most places in melbourne.
for patto id be starting out with the motoril zman grubs. lot cheaper than spending $20 a pop for the crabs.
The crabs work though. you can buy them from tackleworld, gone fishin and hookedup bait and tackle locally.
or www.fishin.com.au and motackle online.
Good luck with it all, and expect to loose a few...

Was just down there this morning and picked one up on a cranka.
As others have said Olive, browns and blacks for colour. In patto most people are throwing the light (3.9g) crabs when they use them.
Agree with steve, zman grubs are the way to go when learning whats around and in a few situations will out fish crabs in there anyway.

ah yes, thanks alex, use the ligter crabs not the heavy model.
also have a pair of pliers handy to unhook them from the pontoons and stuff like that. easier in a kayak than a boat..
also forgot to mention, launching way at carrum used to stock cranka crabs so check there as well..

thanks Guys appreciate it. I dropped into Gone fishin the sarvo. Wow, the guy showed me that many lures , hard and soft. Deep , shallow, vibes and the list of stock just kept going. So much choice and no clue what to buy. I was thinking bout starting with the Zman grub in two inch motor oil colour and couple of Crabs. I didn't realise there was so many lures and this is only one shop.
cheers

Hahahaha yeah it does get expensive and confusing when starting out.
Try the grubs first.
