Bream master back at it again..
Gday lads.
This time around i thought id post this report to let you guys know that i catch smaller fish too
Went out with my mate that fishes the bream tournament with me and was expecting to get into some decent bream. But the bream had other plans
I decided totry topwatet this time first and I tied on a daiwa slippery dog and first cast got my first top water bream. Only a rat but i was over the moon.
3rd cast i got my second on topwater also a rat.
We went on to catch in excess of 20 fish but all undersized rats with only one good fish for the day. Which came off my trusty atomic crank. Didnt measure him but he would be very very close to that 40 mark

Sounds like plenty of action but lacking in the size department but the one in the pic is a beauty mate! Nice work. Great pic

Well done there purple,
40cm is a damn good bream.
Why do you stick your thumb up there to hold a fish ????
Would have thought that it would cause damage.

Yes lots of small fish made the time pass. The big one was a cracker. I should have measured it. These are the kind of fish i need for the tournaments. But never seem to catch them then hahaLightningx wrote:Sounds like plenty of action but lacking in the size department but the one in the pic is a beauty mate! Nice work. Great pic

Thumb is behind the fish mate. Not in the gills.

Re: Bream master back at it again..
The old "rule of thumb" (pun intended), a 40cm Bream equals a kilo fish, for every centimetre over, add 100 g.
Have mentioned this in the past but maybe worth repeating.

To find a fish
You do the miles.
Catch the fish
and earn the smiles.
Lord, allow me to catch a fish, so large that even I,when speaking of it afterwards.........May have no need to lie !!!

Good work, the ol" small fish thing happens to all of us, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

That fish and some of the ones i have caught recently have been a lot heavier than a kilo. I guess it does vary between fish just like it does humans.
I wish we caught fish like that during the bream comps. Because its won on weight not size...
