19/08/12 - Flooded Rivers , Bream hard to catch .

Post by Fish-Hunter » Sun Aug 19, 2012 7:55 pm

I Went out for a Bream fish this arvo & the Yarra was flowing like fresh water rapid's "since the big down pour" recently , this made any Bream fishing near impossible in the Yarra or Maribyrnong rivers . so i ventured to some Bayside piers instead & things werent getting any easier also . i managed to catch some Mullet & Bay Trout , i then was glad to catch my target fish a decent Bream . :)

nice fish.

use bass yabbies or marine worms to catch these buggers. Next month, I will start chasing them from under the piers like lagoon, St kilda and Kerferd. Too bad the water is like coffee.....

No am a hardened old school dude that loves getting his hands dirty with bait , but dont get me wrong i think SP's certainly have advantages in certain situations / conditions .

there are only few piers with wooden planks that old. I try to fish for bream as far as possible from the yarra river. I release dark colored bream. The missus hates the taste. I only keep silver colored fish with yellow fins - looks nice and clean and does not taste like mud.
